Availability and maintainability
Every Ripasso CSP unit operates autonomously. Planned and unplanned maintenance activities on individual units will not affect the performance of the other units. As a result the availability and the maintainability for a Ripasso CSP plant will be very high.
Land area utilization
Due to the high conversion efficiency and that the ancillaries also require minimal land, the land area required for a given electrical power output is much less than for other competing solar technologies. This feature is further strengthened by the possibility to install the Ripasso CSP units in clusters at sizes tailored to suit local site conditions.
CO2 emission
The energy input required to generate electricity on a Ripasso CSP plant comes directly from the sun. Other technologies require complementary energy input e.g. gas heating and therefore CO 2 emissions cannot be avoided.
Roll-out speed
A Ripasso CSP plant can be rolled out at high speed. The system will be
delivered to the site in standard containers and non skilled personnel can be used for installation. After being connected to the grid, each individual CSP unit can immediately start to generate electricity.
Cost
By using standard manufacturing processes from a supply chain highly experienced in volume production, provides a good basis for production at low cost. The stirling power converter, the parabolic mirror and the control systems are all ideally suited to adapt this approach. In addition, the outstanding conversion efficiency for a Ripasso CSP unit requires less material and therefore the cost can be further reduced.
Finite and infinite resources
Many energy sources currently being utilized for generating electricity and
for transportation purposes are diminishing. The sun continues with
unchanged capacity to deliver free sustainable energy to solar power plants.
